Sega and developer Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studio have seemingly leaked Yakuza Kiwami 3, hinting that an official announcement might be imminent.
Users across X/Twitter and Reddit started building excitement after spotting traces of Yakuza Kiwami 3 on the series developer’s official website. The original listing, which briefly referenced a third entry in the Yakuza remakes series, has since been taken down, but fans managed to capture screenshots before it disappeared.

The Kiwami series represents RGG’s remastering of the original Yakuza games. For example, Yakuza Kiwami 1 is a 2016 reimagining of the first Yakuza title, while Yakuza Kiwami 2 reworked Yakuza 2. Yakuza Kiwami 3 has not been officially confirmed, but if RGG announces it as many fans anticipate, it will likely be a remake of the 2009 PlayStation 3 game, Yakuza 3.
If RGG does share details about Yakuza Kiwami 3, it won’t come as a shock. The studio is set to host its annual RGG Summit on September 24, followed immediately by an RGG Direct. Many were already expecting major updates for the Like a Dragon franchise, and the alleged website leak arrived just one week before the event kicks off.
Like a Dragon series director Masayoshi Yokoyama also spoke about Yakuza Kiwami 3 in April 2024. While urging fans not to get overly excited given the team’s ongoing work on other projects, he confirmed the game remains a possibility.
“I’ll just say that I think I’ll do Kiwami 3 at some point,” Yokoyama said at the time. “I’m sure I’ll do it someday.”
