This limited-time event runs until January 12th, offering players an increased chance to add these serpentine Pokémon to their collections in shiny form.

Following the recent Shiny Rayquaza Tera Raid event which concluded 2024's Year of the Dragon, this new event provides another exciting opportunity for players. The Rayquaza event, while easily conquered due to Rayquaza's Fairy-type weakness, offered a convenient way to obtain this rare Shiny Pokémon, especially for those who hadn't progressed far enough in the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC.

This Snakelike Mass Outbreak, detailed on Serebii.net, commenced on January 9th at 7:00 PM Eastern Time and ends on January 12th at 6:59 PM Eastern Time.
