Description:
ZhiZhu! - The Spider™ is a new, modern, and more challenging evolution of the ancient and classical game "Nine Men's Morris."
Game Content:
1 Spiderweb board, 9 white Spiders and 9 black Spiders.
START: Player A begins with 9 white Spiders, Player B with 9 black Spiders, and the board starts empty.
GOAL: The game's objective is to capture your opponent's Spiders once they are placed on the board.
How Do You Capture Your Opponent's Spiders?
Capture opponent Spiders on the board by creating ALIGNED CHAINS:
SMALL CHAIN: 3 SPIDERS ALIGNED on any one of the 8 straight lines.
BIG CHAIN: 5 SPIDERS ALIGNED on any one of the 3 circles.
PLAYING THE GAME: The game unfolds in TWO PHASES:
PHASE 1 – Placement:
Players take turns placing their 9 Spiders, one at a time, on any of the 24 vacant intersections of the Spiderweb.
Chains (Small or Big) can be formed during this phase, allowing the player to CAPTURE 1 or 2 of the opponent's Spiders accordingly.
PHASE 2 – Sliding Movement:
After all Spiders are placed, players alternate turns sliding one Spider to an adjacent empty intersection on the web (left, right, up, or down from its current position).
Capturing Pieces:
When a player successfully forms a SMALL Chain (3 aligned Spiders), they immediately CAPTURE (i.e., remove) ONE opponent Spider from the web.
When a player successfully forms a BIG Chain (5 aligned Spiders), they immediately CAPTURE (i.e., remove) TWO opponent Spiders from the web.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
A player CANNOT capture Spiders that are already part of a Small or Big Chain, unless no other "loose" Spiders are available to capture.
A player CANNOT capture Spiders by simply remaking an existing chain with the same Spider(s) in the same locations.
A chain is considered NEW and valid only if at least one Spider within it has been moved (slid) into its new position.
WINNING:
Win the game by being the first to CAPTURE 7 of your opponent's Spiders.
A player also wins if their opponent concedes ("Gives Up"), believing their position is irrecoverable.
