The Resident Evil series is expanding with Survival Unit, an innovative mobile game that breaks away from traditional zombie-shooting mechanics. Instead of direct combat, players will strategically command units and coordinate tactical maneuvers.
Survival Unit transforms the franchise's signature horror elements into a real-time strategy experience. This marks a significant departure from the tense, resource-limited gameplay that has defined Resident Evil since its 1996 debut.
Capcom partnered with Aniplex (known for Demon Slayer and Fate/Grand Order) and JoyCity Corporation (developers of Gunship Battle: Total Warfare) to create this mobile adaptation. The collaboration brings diverse gaming expertise to the iconic franchise.
The game will launch globally across North America, Europe, and Asian markets including Japan and South Korea. While an exact release date remains unconfirmed, fans can expect more details soon.
Current gameplay specifics are still confidential, but Aniplex and JoyCity will host a digital showcase on July 10 at 10:00 PM UTC. Mark your calendars for this exclusive reveal event.
Since 2001's Biohazard i Survivor, Resident Evil's mobile offerings have predominantly stayed within survival horror territory. This genre shift represents one of the franchise's boldest reinventions yet.
With the official website now live and the showcase approaching, comprehensive details about Survival Unit will soon emerge. Meanwhile, explore our coverage of Trophy Hunter - a new hunting PvP game from the creators of Fishing Clash.
