Sometimes, simplicity is the key to enjoyment in gaming. With no frills or new spins, just a classic experience, Blob Attack: Tower Defense perfectly embodies this ethos. Developed by the solo developer Stanislav Buchkov, this straightforward tower defense game is now available on the iOS App Store. In Blob Attack, you'll engage in all the familiar actions of the genre: constructing towers, amassing energy, and unlocking increasingly potent weapons to fend off your enemies.
Your adversaries in this game are the increasingly popular globs of slime, reminiscent of those found in Dragon Quest and other fantasy titles. While the concept is engaging, every game has its challenges.
**A bit of an art issue**
Unfortunately, one aspect that stood out to me about Blob Attack was the use of AI-generated art on the store page and presumably in-game. While the game itself is simple, this shouldn't equate to poor quality. However, the use of AI art can be off-putting and detracts from the game's potential appeal. A review of the developer's other works on the App Store, such as the pixelated RPG Dungeon Craft, reveals a similar trend, which is disappointing because these games could be noteworthy without this reliance on computer-generated imagery.
