Reaching Bloodmoon Island in Divinity: Original Sin 2
Bloodmoon Island, shrouded in Deathfog and with its connecting bridge destroyed, presents a challenge to reach in Divinity: Original Sin 2. This guide outlines several methods to overcome this obstacle and access the island's quests and plot advancements.
Method 1: The Spirit Bridge
The remnants of the destroyed bridge lie northeast of Cloisterwood, near Jahan and Witch Alice. Using Spirit Vision reveals the broken pathways. Crossing requires:
- Gloves of Teleportation: These allow teleporting party members individually across the gaps.
- Translocation Skills: Skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, or Tactical Retreat enable teleporting, but may be limited by party composition.
- Teleporter Pyramids: Two pyramids are needed. One companion uses translocation to cross, then the others teleport to their location.
- Fast Travel: Once a companion reaches the island and discovers the waypoint, the rest of the party can fast travel.
Method 2: The Undead Ferry
An undead ferryman, located at a pier northwest of Cloisterwood, offers passage across the Deathfog. However, this is a trap: only undead characters like Fane are immune to the Deathfog.
- With Fane: Fane can safely cross, discover the waypoint, and allow the rest of the party to fast travel.
- Without Fane: This requires at least two Teleporter Pyramids. A companion takes the ferry, dies on the other side, and is then resurrected using a pyramid and a resurrection spell or scroll.
Method 2 Alternative (Without Fane): Using Teleportation Pyramids
If Fane isn't in your party, the bridge remains the most efficient route. However, if you insist on using the ferry, follow these steps:
- Equip a companion with a Teleporter Pyramid.
- Send that companion across the ferry. They will die upon arrival.
- Use a second Teleporter Pyramid to teleport to the deceased companion's location.
- Resurrect the companion.
Caution: Avoid attacking the Undead Ferryman unless prepared. He retaliates with a potentially lethal Deathfog spell. A quick save is recommended before engaging. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3,750 XP.
