The boom period persists for Warhammer 40,000 creator Games Workshop, announcing a generous £20 million (approximately $27 million) bonus pool for its employees.
The Nottingham-based company behind the expansive Warhammer tabletop universes reported core revenue of £560 million for the 52 weeks ending June 1, 2025 – up from £494.7 million previously. Licensing revenue surged to £50 million (from £31 million), while core profits reached £210 million (£174.8 million before) and licensing profits hit £45 million (£27 million previously). This delivers a total pre-tax profit of £255 million, rising from £203 million.
Celebrating these record earnings and recognizing staff contributions, Games Workshop increased its employee bonus to £20 million from last year's £18 million payout. Distributed equally among approximately 1,500 employees, this translates to roughly £13,333 (around $18,000) per staff member.
While Games Workshop primarily thrives on miniature sales for tabletop wargames like Warhammer 40,000, its IP expansion continues accelerating. Licensing revenue soared thanks to last year's hit Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and Amazon’s Warhammer 40,000 Secret Level animated feature. The company also finalized its landmark deal with Amazon for Henry Cavill's Warhammer 40,000 Cinematic Universe, encompassing films and series. Additionally, Space Marine 3 is now in development.
Looking ahead, Games Workshop acknowledges current licensing revenue likely won't repeat in 2025/26 despite remaining a priority. Yet Warhammer 40,000's momentum shows no signs of slowing—the franchise has never been stronger.
Following Games Workshop’s recent Warhammer Skulls showcase, key announcements include Dawn of War Definitive Edition and Space Marine 2’s Siege mode. Fans can explore full reveals and trailers.
