Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy's Misty Island: A Comprehensive Guide to Power Cells and Scout Flies

Misty Island, a location central to the plot of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, presents a challenge and reward for players willing to brave its dangers. This guide details how to access the island and collect all its Power Cells and Scout Flies.

Accessing Misty Island

Before venturing to Misty Island, you must assist the fisherman in the Forbidden Jungle by catching 200 pounds of fish. This earns you a Power Cell and access to the Speedboat in Sandover Village, your transportation to Misty Island.

The Sculptor's Muse

Your first task on Misty Island involves retrieving the Sculptor's Lost Muse, a golden creature resembling Daxter. Located near the docks, the Muse requires a chase. Utilize roll jumps and strategically break large bones to create pathways, anticipating its movements to intercept it. Once captured, return the Muse to the Sculptor in Sandover Village for a Power Cell (save this for later).

Blue Eco and the First Power Cell

After retrieving the Muse, locate a platforming section with blue eco orbs leading to a Precursor Door (ignore the door for now). Collect the Blue Eco and proceed to the Precursor Platform. Activating the platform with Blue Eco allows you to cross the gap and obtain a Power Cell.

Conquering the Lurker Arena and Dark Eco Pool

To reach the next Power Cell, return to the area where your Misty Island adventure began. A Lurker arena awaits, requiring you to defeat waves of Lurkers while dodging explosive projectiles. Use the Red Eco dropped by Lurkers to your advantage. Once victorious, climb the revealed stairs to the Dark Eco Pool and collect the Power Cell.

The Lurker Ship Power Cell

Following the arena, proceed to Misty Island's Bay and locate the Lurker Ship, accessible via a bridge. Climb to the top of the ship to claim another Power Cell.

The Cannon Power Cell

Ascend the ramp, dodging logs thrown by Lurkers (jump over rolling logs, walk under bouncing ones). Utilize platforms for respite. Eliminate the two Lurkers near the cannon at the top for a Power Cell. Use the cannon to destroy metal boxes in the arena below for additional Precursor Orbs.

Balloon Lurker Challenge

Use the Zoomer (accessible via a trans-pad near the Lurker Ship) to eliminate five Balloon Lurkers in the bay. Careful use of the Zoomer's controls (brakes, accelerator, hop) is crucial to navigate mines and target the Lurkers effectively. This yields another Power Cell.

Zoomer and the Final Power Cell

Using the Zoomer, navigate the ramp, turn right around the rock, and accelerate towards the edge, performing a hop just before launching to collect Precursor Orbs and the Power Cell.

Collecting the Seven Scout Flies

Seven Scout Flies are hidden across Misty Island.

  • Fly 1: During the Muse chase, use a seesaw and ground pound to reach a cliff with a Scout Fly Box.
  • Flies 2 & 3: Located near the arena door (before the blue eco platform), navigate crumbling pathways.
  • Fly 4: After exiting the arena, use a seesaw to reach cliffs overlooking the bay.
  • Flies 5 & 6: Found on and near the Lurker Ship; one is past the bridge, the other on a platform along the log-laden ramp.
  • Fly 7: Found near the top of the Zoomer ramp mentioned in "Use the Zoomer to Reach the Power Cell."

After collecting all Power Cells and Scout Flies, return the Muse to the Sculptor to complete your Misty Island adventure.
