Get ready for the highly anticipated remake! The release date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has finally been revealed: August 28th, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This confirmation comes via a release date trailer spotted on GameSpot's YouTube channel and the PlayStation Store. While Konami hasn't yet made an official announcement on their social media, the news brings much-needed closure after nearly two years of waiting.
Initially slated for a 2024 release following its announcement at the PlayStation Showcase in May 2023, subsequent trailers at the Xbox Games Showcase and Tokyo Game Show focused on gameplay.
According to Metal Gear X (formerly Twitter), this remake stays true to the original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, preserving gameplay and original voice acting – hence the "Delta" designation. The official account explained that "Delta" signifies "change" or "difference" without altering the core structure.
More Than Just a Remake: A Surprising Collaboration
The trailer offers a thrilling glimpse into the game's upgraded visuals and a surprising twist: a collaboration with the Ape Escape franchise! A cheeky ape makes a cameo appearance, hinting at a potential "Snake vs. Monkey" mode or other collaborative elements. The trailer concludes with a cryptic "And more...", suggesting further unannounced collaborations.
