Nintendo Switch 2 Fans Think They've Figured Out the New Physical Game Case Size

Speculation about the Nintendo Switch 2 has shifted from the console itself to the size of its game cases, following a potential leak from a French retailer.

According to Nintendo Life, journalist Felipe Lima discovered a listing for a Take-Two Interactive game on Fnac, a French retailer, which included the game case dimensions. If accurate, these dimensions suggest Nintendo Switch 2 game boxes will be slightly larger than those for the original Switch.

A Reddit user, HertzBurst, created a visual comparison showcasing the purported size difference between the two. The leaked dimensions are approximately 5.1 inches (13 centimeters) by 7.7 inches (19.5 centimeters).

While larger than current Switch cases, these dimensions are still considerably smaller than those used for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 games. Although unconfirmed, it's plausible retailers would receive these measurements early to prepare for stock displays.

A release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 remains unannounced by Nintendo. However, speculation points to a launch between June and September, based on factors such as upcoming hands-on events and a statement from Nacon, the publisher of Greedfall 2, suggesting a pre-September release.

The Nintendo Switch 2 was initially revealed in January with a short trailer highlighting backward compatibility and a second USB-C port. Many details, including the purpose of a new Joy-Con button, remain undisclosed, although theories abound.
