Nintendo's financial report showcases ambitious plans to expand its franchises. This includes new game releases and theme park expansions, extending beyond the highly anticipated Switch 2.
The report confirms several first-party titles for 2025. Donkey Kong Country Returns HD (January 16th) and Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition (March 20th) are set for early releases. Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond are also slated for release this year, though dates remain unannounced. Further announcements are expected during the Nintendo Direct, airing Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025. While the focus is likely on the Switch 2, fans anticipate new game reveals.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is confirmed for a 2025 launch, anticipated in the latter half of the year. "Nintendo Switch 2 Experience" events will be held in 15 global locations starting in April, offering hands-on time with the new console. While registration for many locations has closed, waitlists are available. Japan's registration remains open until February 20th JST.
Expanding Nintendo's presence beyond gaming, a new Super Nintendo World theme park opens in Orlando, Florida's Universal Epic Universe on May 22nd, 2025. This follows the successful launch in Universal Studios Hollywood. The Orlando park will feature Super Mario Land and Donkey Kong Country themes. A Singapore location is also planned for 2025, though details are limited.
