In recent days, rumors have been circulating online suggesting that Santa Monica Studio was set to make a major announcement at an upcoming event celebrating the 20th anniversary of the iconic God of War franchise. These rumors, which hinted at the announcement of classic God of War remasters, were even supported by industry insider Jeff Grubb, sparking significant excitement among the game's dedicated fanbase. In response to these swirling speculations, Santa Monica Studio took the opportunity to clarify and temper fan expectations.

Santa Monica Studio issued a statement to address the rumors directly:
"Pantheons collide! We’re thrilled to present a lineup of Greek and Norse characters for this panel celebrating the 20th anniversary of God of War where we’ll reflect on the past two decades of the series. Given the star-studded lineup and the anticipation surrounding this milestone, we want to make it clear that no announcements are planned for this event." - Santa Monica Studio
Instead of announcing new remasters, the studio delighted fans with new thematic artwork showcasing Kratos alongside Jörmungandr. The event will also feature appearances by beloved actors from the God of War series, including Terrence Carson, the original voice of Kratos, and Carole Ruggier, who lent her voice to Athena. This special panel is scheduled to take place on March 22, promising a nostalgic and celebratory look back at the franchise's storied history.
