索尼于2020年开始将第一方游戏移植到PC平台，首款移植游戏为《地平线：零之曙光》。自那以后，尤其是在2021年收购PC移植巨头Nixxes之后，索尼在这方面的努力不断加强。
虽然将PlayStation独占游戏移植到PC平台可以扩大其影响力和盈利潜力，但理论上也削弱了索尼硬件的独特卖点。然而，实际上，这家游戏巨头并不太担心PS5用户流向PC，一位公司代表在2024年末与投资者的问答环节中明确表示：“就用户流向PC而言，我们既没有证实有任何此类趋势正在进行，到目前为止，我们也没有将其视为重大风险。”
PS5销量似乎不受索尼PC移植策略影响
索尼的观点与其在硬件领域的近期表现相符。最新的官方PS5销量数据显示，截至2024年11月，该公司已售出6550万台现世代主机。这与PS4的销量大致相当，PS4在其上市头四年销量略高于7300万台。这两款主机销量之间的微小差异，更容易用PS5因疫情导致的供应短缺来解释，而不是该主机缺乏永久性独占游戏。由于索尼主机销量几代之间保持稳定，该公司认为PC移植对PS5整体价值主张的影响最小，也就不足为奇了。

PlayStation厂商不仅有望继续推进PC移植，而且可能还会加大力度。2024年，索尼总裁户贺贵树表示，公司计划在PlayStation PC移植方面采取更“积极”的策略，即缩短其PS5和Steam版本发布之间的间隔。《漫威蜘蛛侠2》就反映了这一战略转变，该游戏计划于1月30日登陆PC，距离其最初发布仅15个月。Insomniac系列的前作《蜘蛛侠：迈尔斯·莫拉莱斯》作为PlayStation独占游戏的时间超过两年。
除了《漫威蜘蛛侠2》外，PC玩家本月还可以期待另一款现有的PlayStation独占游戏，因为《最终幻想7：重生》计划于1月23日登陆Steam。索尼仍有一些备受瞩目的PS5独占游戏尚未宣布登陆PC，包括《GT赛车7》、《浪人崛起》、《星际之刃》和《恶魔之魂》重制版。
