"We've adopted an audio-first philosophy for this remaster," Matsuno continued. "Nearly every line has been polished to sound natural when spoken aloud while preserving the original's spirit."

The remaster offers two distinct versions: a Classic edition preserving the original experience and an Extended version with modern enhancements. This dual approach addresses fan curiosity about why Square Enix didn't pursue an HD-2D remake similar to recent Dragon Quest and Live A Live remasters.

In a follow-up interview, Director Kazutoyo Maehiro explained their rationale: "Our priority was introducing Tactics to contemporary audiences while respecting longtime fans. The Enhanced version modernizes accessibility while the Classic edition delivers nostalgic authenticity."

"Developing parallel versions essentially meant creating two distinct games," Maehiro elaborated. "The technical and financial challenges were substantial, but we viewed this as our tribute to the fanbase that's supported Tactics for nearly 30 years."
