Many *Monster Hunter: World* players voiced their disappointment with the game's weapon designs, sparking concerns about whether *Monster Hunter Wilds* would follow suit. While early glimpses of *Wilds*' weapons haven't provided a definitive answer, Director Yuya Tokuda has addressed these concerns directly.
Regarding the Hope series armor and weapons, Tokuda explained: "In *Monster Hunter: World*, weapon designs generally maintained a base form, with variations based on monster materials. However, in *Wilds*, each weapon boasts a unique design."
This directly contrasts with *Monster Hunter: World*, assuring players that *Wilds*' weapons will exhibit greater diversity. While some *World* weapons evolved into unique forms through upgrades, many weapon lines remained visually similar. The image below illustrates this, showcasing the striking resemblance between certain upgraded weapons, such as the Aqua and Pukei-Pukei Sword and Shield, and the Bone and Jyuratodus Long Swords (as they appeared at *World's* launch).
