Ninja Gaiden 2 Black Update Adds New Game Plus and More

Feb 20,2025 Author: Elijah

Team Ninja's substantial update for Ninja Gaiden 2 Black (version 1.0.7.0) introduces highly anticipated features and significant improvements. Available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam & Microsoft Store), this patch fulfills promises made in January to address community feedback.

Key additions include New Game Plus, allowing players to restart with previously acquired weapons and Ninpo (reset to level 1), though difficulty cannot be immediately increased. A much-requested quality-of-life enhancement lets players toggle the visibility of their projectile weapon via the Options > Game Settings menu.

Balance adjustments focus on enemy HP (reduced in Chapters 8 and 11) and enemy counts (increased in Chapters 13 and 14). Ayane's attack damage has also received a boost.

Numerous bug fixes are included, addressing high-performance PC issues, game-breaking glitches in specific chapters, and crashes after extended play. A complete list of fixes is provided below.

Originally a surprise release during January's Xbox Developer Direct, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, rebuilt with Unreal Engine 5, boasts enhanced visuals, new playable characters, and improved combat mechanics. IGN's 8/10 review praised its visual upgrades over Sigma 2, while noting a shift in enemy design.
